CNN Millennium VIEW PROJECT
PROJECT BRIEF: Develop and design the online counterpart to CNN's landmark series, Millenium, a documentary of the past 1000 years. The show consisted of 10 episodes, and a new web site needed to be launched each week in conjunction with the broadcast. The wesbite needed to be accessible and seemless for users with dial-up connections.
SOLUTION: We developed a flash solution that contained short features, interactive maps, games, and historical content. I was responsible for storyboarding, copywriting, design and development of the flash (version 4) features each week. To achieve seemlessness for low-bandwidth, each show had an animated spot illustration acting as a staged preload delay. I also designed and animated the trailer for the website on broadcast television.
This project won the Macromedia Site of the Year, 1999. |
